The Route

Australia:
Heading north from Sydney, I will split time between coast/beach and dirt back roads / tracks of the Great Dividing Range and national parks of New South Wales and Queensland.  From Cairns, the path will lead west to the Gulf of Carpentaria and Mt. Isa.  From Mt. Isa southwest towards Alice Springs and Uluru.  Weather permitting, the path will continue northwest along the Tanami Track towards The Kimberley, then west towards Port Hedland and the Pilbara.  From Port Hedland, the path will continue inland towards Tom Price and the Karijini National Park, meeting the coast again at Exmouth.  From Exmouth south to Carnarvon and Monkey Mia, through the Pinnacles towards Perth.  From Perth, the path continues south towards Margaret River.  From the southwestern corner of the country, I will continue east through Albany, along the Nullarbor Plain, through both Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas towards Adelaide.  From Adelaide and neighboring Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, the path goes inland towards Country NSW and Broken Hill.  Circling back towards Mt. Gambier, I will follow the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne.  East from Melbourne, the path heads inland towards Omeo and Albury, then around to Thredbo, Mt. Kosciuszko, Jindabyne to Cooma and eventually Canberra.  From there, it is smooth sailing along the South Coast and Illawarra back towards Sydney.

Getting to Vladivostok is a pain.  All indications are that shipping directly to Vladivostok (either by air or sea) is costly, time consuming, and life shortening.  So I've been directed to fly to South Korea and take a 16 hour ferry ride from the east coast of the country to a town 4 hours south of Vladivostok.  Apparently this pain in the ass of a route is easier than customs and port fees in Vladivostok.  That's saying something...
